How to Check and Update Moxa W2150A, W2250A, W2150A-W4, & W2250A-W4 Firmware
Overview
The article outlines the procedure for updating the firmware on Moxa NPort W2150A, W2250A, W2150A-W4, and W2250A-W4 devices.
For W2150A/W2250A devices only, the device must already be running version 2 firmware. If it is not, you must first upgrade to version 1.11 (link), then proceed to update to the desired version 2 firmware. Requirements
- IP Address of Moxa NPort unit

How to Check Current Firmware Version
- From a web browser, go to http://[moxa_ip_address]
 
- e.g. http://192.168.1.100/
 
- In the upper right corner, you will find the firmware version
 
How to Update Firmware
- From a web browser, go to http://[moxa_ip_address]
 
- e.g. http://192.168.1.100/
- Type "admin" in Account field
 
- Type "moxa" in Password field
 
 If this fails, try leaving the password field blank
If this fails, try leaving the password field blank- Click Login
 
- Go to System Management > Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade
 
- Click Choose File and select the firmware file
 
- Verify the firmware version, then click Submit
- The update process takes approximately 2-3 minutes, do not power off or disconnect the unit from the network
 
- Sometimes the page will not show any activity or even appear locked up; if this lasts more than 5 minutes, refresh or reboot the unit and try again
- The Moxa NPort unit will reboot on it's own once complete
Troubleshooting
- Unable to connect to the unit from the web browser
 
- Try connecting to the unit in wired mode by disconnecting power, plugging in an Ethernet cable, then plugging back in the power cable
- The page appears to be locked up
 
- Wait up to 5 minutes and if the issue still persists, attempt to refresh the page or reboot the unit
