How to Check if a DMG Mori has an MTConnect Adapter

Overview

Since around 2013, DMG Mori machines (previously known as Mori Seiki) have been equipped with MTConnect as a standard feature, although this is restricted to Fanuc and Mitsubishi back-ends. Machines from earlier years might also support MTConnect if they have received a firmware update post-2013. The following article will detail the steps to verify the system configuration to determine whether the MTConnect Adapter is installed on the machine.

Check for the MTConnect Adapter

  1. Press SYSTEM button
  2. Press SYSTEM CONFIG. softkey
  3. Press DETAIL softkey
  4. In the right panel, look for an application called "MTConnectComm.exe"
  5. If this is present, then your machine has MTConnect
For more information on configuring the MTConnect Agent to collect data, please contact your SFA representative.
