How to Configure Haas NGC DPRNT

How to Configure Haas NGC DPRNT

Overview

Haas with Next Generation Control (NGC) allows DRPNT, but not using the traditional RS232 port. You can export DPRNT statements using a TCP port or save it to a file. This is a common practice to collect probe data from the control.

Set DPRNT Export Method

  1. Press SETTING button
  2. Under Settings tab, go to setting 261 and set to one of the following:
    1. Disabled - DPRNT is not allowed
    2. File - Outputs the DPRNT statements to a file on the control
    3. TCP port - Outputs the DPRNT statements to a TCP port

Configuring DPRNT Export to a File

Predator DNC and pWidgets can be used in combination to capture these DPRNT statements. This is common when capturing probe data. Contact Shop Floor Automations for more information.
  1. To set the file path where the DPRNTs are exported to, press List Prog
  2. Navigate to and highlight the folder where you want the DPRNT file to save
  3. Press F3
  4. Select "Setting 262 DPRNT"
  5. Press Enter
  6. The DPRNT statements will save to DPRNT.OUT

Configure DPRNT Export to a TCP port

Predator DNC can be used to capture these DPRNT statements. This is common to capture additional information for data collection or select methods of probing. The Haas acts as a TCP server while Predator DNC acts as a TCP client.
  1. Press SETTING button
  2. Under Settings tab, go to setting 263 to see the set TCP port, change if necessary
