How to Copy Vault Items in Predator PDM

Overview

Copying Vault Items can speed up the process of populating the Vault by allowing you to find a Vault Item that has the necessary attachments or information and create a new Vault Item with the same files, but with a different selection of components.

Requirements

  1. Predator PDM
  2. Predator PDM User Account with at least Manufacturing Engineering permissions

Copy Vault Item

  1. Log into Predator PDM
  2. If not already in the Vault Viewer, open the vault (View > Vault...)
  3. Find a Vault Item and Revision to copy, select it
  4. Right-click the Vault Item and click Copy...
  5. Select the destination of the new Vault Item
  6. Click Next
  7. The familiar New Vault Item dialog will appear, make any necessary adjustments, including Vault Item Attachments
  8. Click Next and Finish when done
  9. The copied Vault Item will be in your vault and you can release when ready
