How to Create Predator PDM Environment Variable
Overview
Predator PDM uses environment variables to determine which folder to use to temporarily store files prior to viewing them. This Predator PDM cache is similar to a browser cache. Best practice is to define the PREDATOR_TEMP environment variable.
This KB is intended for Predator PDM versions v11.0.265 or older. Current versions create the environment variable automatically.
Create the System Variable
- Open "Environment Variables"
- On Windows 10, this can be found by searching "Environment Variables" in the start menu search; click Edit the system environment variables, then click Environment Variables... located at the bottom
- On older Windows versions, this can be found by right-clicking My Computer, then clicking Properties; go to the Advanced tab, then click Environment Variables... located at the bottom
- Click New... located in the System variables section (not the first one near the top)
- For Variable name, type "PREDATOR_TEMP"
- For Variable value, type "C:\ProgramData\Predator Software\PDM vault cache"
- Press OK on all screens to finish
