How to Obtain Required Information for Siemens 840D HMI Advanced MTConnect Adapter
Overview
Some details are needed to create an MTConnect Adapter for Siemens 840D HMI Advanced controls.
Obtain HMI Version
Recommend taking pictures of requested screens to avoid any typos.
- Press Menu Select
- Press Diagnosis
- Press Service Displays
- Press Version
- On "NCU Version" page, notate the numbers under "Version Data NCU" (e.g. 06.05.39)
- On "HMI Version" page, notate the HMI System Software (record the entire HMI Version number)
Obtain MAC Address
Enter Password
This step is only needed if control is not in manufacture mode; if in doubt, proceed to set the password
- Press Menu Select
- Press Start-up
- Press Password...
- Press Set password
- Enter "SUNRISE" as the password
Open DOS Shell (Command Prompt) and Find MAC Address
- Press Menu Select
- Press MMC or HMI, whichever appears
- Press DOS Shell
- In the DOS shell window, type "ipconfig /all"
- Notate the "IP Address" and "Physical Address" (i.e. MAC address)
Clear Password
This step is only needed if control was not in manufacture mode; if in doubt, proceed to clear password
Clearing password does not "delete" it contrary to Siemens terminology, it only put the control back into operator mode
- Press Menu Select
- Press Start-up
- Press Password...
- Press Delete password
- Send requested information to your Account Executive or to support@shopfloorautomations.com
