How to Share Vault Items in Predator PDM

Overview

Sharing Vault Items and their attachments is used when sharing common files such as NC programs and PDFs across multiple vault items. 

Requirements

  1. Predator PDM
  2. Predator PDM User Account with at least Manufacturing Engineering permissions

Share a Vault Item Attachment from a Vault Item

  1. Log into Predator PDM
  2. If not already in the Vault Viewer, open the vault (View > Vault...)
  3. Find an existing Vault Item Attachment
  4. Right-click the existing Vault Item Attachment and click Share File...
  5. Click Next, then Finish

Attach a Shared Vault Item Attachment to a Vault Item

  1. Log into Predator PDM
  2. If not already in the Vault Viewer, open the vault (View > Vault...)
  3. Go to File > New Vault Item...
  4. Select all components from the drop downs
    5. To create new components, click the ellipses menu button to the right.
  5. Click Next
  6. If not already populated, enter a Revision number
    7. Revision is for Predator PDM only and do not have to match your system. Revisions in Predator PDM are typically numeric.
  7. ECN and Reference Notes are optional
  8. Click Vault Item Attachments
  9. Choose * to attach a shared file from the Shared Library
  10. Select a file from the Shared File library
  11. Click Select (top left)
  12. Repeat as needed
    13. Direct (+) and Links (@) can also be attached
  13. Click Next, then Finish
