How to Toggle Fanuc Data Server Modes

Overview

Fanuc Data Servers allow you to change how they handle file transfers; these are called DS Modes.

Change Data Server Mode

  1. Press SYSTEM button
  2. Press far-right softkey (+) until you see ETHER NET, press it
  3. Press far-right softkey (+) until you see DS MODE, press it
  4. Press (OPRT)
  5. Press one of the following softkeys
    1. STRAGE MODE
      1. Common default
      2. Used to transfer data between CNC memory and Data Server hard drive
    2. BUFFER MODE
      1. Uncommon
      2. Used to DNC (drip feed) a program from the Data Server hard drive
    3. FTP MODE
      1. Commonly used with Predator DNC
      2. Used to transfer data using FTP
      3. Can transfer data between CNC memory and FTP Server (Predator DNC)
      4. Can transfer data between Data Server hard drive and FTP Server (Predator DNC)
      5. Uses FTP Client settings found in the Data Server configuration page
  6. Press EXECUTE
