How to Update Firmware on USB Connect Products

Overview

The following article will have you back up USB Connect settings and apply firmware updates. 
To update the firmware on a USB Connect Product, please consult with our technical support department to confirm compatibility prior to installing.
Upgrading the firmware will reset all USB Connect settings back to factory default 

Requirements

  1. USB Flash Drive
  2. Firmware (this can be obtained from a SFA Technician)

Back Up USB Connect Settings

  1. Plug in a USB flash drive
  2. Go to SETUP
  3. Go to Save Setting
  4. With [Type File] highlighted, press the Middle Button
  5. Use the left button to scroll through the letters and numbers, pressing the Right Button to type it in
  6. Press the Middle Button to save the settings under that file name
  7. Settings will be saved on USB flash drive

Upgrade Firmware

  1. Load the firmware onto a USB flash drive
  2. Power up USB Connect
  3. Plug in the USB flash drive into the USB Connect
  4. Go to SETUP
  5. Go to Update SW
  6. Highlight the firmware, press the Middle Button
  7. USB Connect screen will display "Check File" followed by "Begin Update", this should take approx. 30 secs
  8. Once complete, the Main Menu will appear
  9. Confirm the updated firmware revision shown on the main menuand show the current firmware version

Restore USB Connect Settings

  1. Go to SETUP
  2. Go to Load Setting
  3. Select the file you backed up earlier using the Right Button
  4. Press the Middle Button
  5. Settings will load into the unit
