How to Update Windows Firewall for Predator Secure DNC

This article goes over how to open up Windows Firewall for Predator Secure DNC on your Windows-based CNC machine.

Windows XP Firewall Rules

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel
  2. Double click Windows Firewall
  3. On General tab, select "On (Recommended)"

  4. On Exceptions tab, click Add Port…

  5. For Name, type "Predator Secure DNC – 8190"
  6. For Port Number, type "8190"
  7. Select "TCP"
  8. Click OK
  9. Click Add Port…
  10. For Name, type "Predator Secure DNC – 8191"
  11. For Port Number, type "8191"
  12. Select "TCP"
  13. Click OK


Windows 7 Firewall Rules

  1. Open Windows Control Panel
  2. Double click Windows Firewall
  3. Click Advanced Settings
  4. Click Inbound Rules (left panel)
  5. Click New Rule… (right panel)

  6. Rule Type
    1. Select "Port"
    2. Click Next
  7. Protocol and Ports
    1. Select "TCP"
    2. For Specific local ports, type "8190,8191"
    3. Click Next

  8. Action
    1. Select "Allow the connection"
    2. Click Next
  9. Profile
    1. Check all boxes
    2. Click Next
  10. Name
    1. For Name, type "Predator Secure DNC (TCP 8190, 8191)"
    2. Click Finish
  1. Click Outbound Rules (left panel)
  2. Click New Rule… (right panel)
    1. Rule Type
      1. Select "Port"
      2. Click Next
    2. Protocol and Ports
      1. Select "TCP"
      2. For Specific local ports, type "8190,8191"
      3. Click Next
    3. Action
      1. Select "Allow the connection"
      2. Click Next
    4. Profile
      1. Check all boxes
      2. Click Next
    5. Name
      1. For Name, type "Predator Secure DNC (TCP 8190, 8191)"
      2. Click Finish
