How to use a floppy emulator on a Mazak 640

Formatting the USB stick (if needed):

Note: This must be done before using the floppy drive.
1. Plug in USB stick
2. Red light on floppy begins to flash
3. Press “RES” (reset button)
4. Red light on floppy will stop flashing
5. Press “DATA IN/OUT” softkey
6. Press “FLOPPY
7. Press “FD FORMAT
8. Enter -9999 then press Input
9. Press “START” softkey
10. USB will now be formatted

Send to CNC:
1. Plug in USB stick
2. Red light on floppy begins to flash
3. Press “RES” (reset button)
4. Red light on floppy will stop flashing
5. Press “DATA IN/OUT” softkey
6. Press “FLOPPY” softkey
7. Press “DIR. SELECT” softkey
8. Select the folder your programs are stored in and press Input
9. Press “CONTENTS FD” softkey
10. Press “START” softkey
11. Press “LOAD NC <- FD” softkey
12. Press “START” softkey
13. Program(s) will now be loaded into the main memory

Receive from CNC:
1. Plug in USB stick
2. Red light on floppy begins to flash
3. Press “RES” (reset button)
4. Red light on floppy will stop flashing
5. Press “DATA IN/OUT” softkey
6. Press “FLOPPY” softkey
7. Press “DIR. SELECT” softkey
8. Select the folder you want to save files to, then press Input
9. Press “CONTENTS FD” softkey
10. Press “START” softkey
11. Press “SAVE NC -> FD” softkey
12. Press “PROGRAM FILE” softkey
13. Type in the program(s) you wish to save and press Input (each time if more than 1 program)
14. Press “START” softkey
15. Program(s) will now be saved onto the USB stick
