ODI and DataXchange not connection to DataXchange Service

Overview

This article will help go over getting ODI to connect to DataXchange Service.

Requirements

  1. Local Administrator Rights
  2. To be on Scytec DataXchange Service computer

How to test if Windows Firewall is blocking ODI

  1. From the Start Menu, search for "Windows Firewall"
  2. Click Windows Defender Firewall
  3. Click Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off
  4. Click all Radio buttons for "Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended)
  5. Click OK
  6. Test ODI again from Client

How to set up and to allow DataXchange service in Windows Firewall

  1. From the Start Menu, search for "Windows Firewall"
  2. Click Windows Defender Firewall
  3. Click Advanced Settings
  4. Click Inbound Rules
  5. Click New Rule...
  6. Click Port
  7. Click TCP
  8. Click Specific local ports:
  9. Type 80
  10. Click Next
  11. Click Allow the connection
  12. Click Next
  13. Check 
    1. Domain
    2. Private
    3. Public
  14. Click Next
  15. Name Rule
    1. Scytec DataXchange Service
  16. Click Finish
