DataXchange ODI Error DXServiceNotAvailabe.Error

DataXchange ODI Error DXServiceNotAvailabe.Error

Problem

When trying to run ODI, you receive DXServiceNotAvailable.Error

Reason

This can be for one of two reasons. The most common, the DataXchange (DX) Service is not available. The second is due to having more than one DX Service

Solutions

  1. Do the following if you have one DX Service
    1. From the device attempting to use ODI, confirm you can ping the DX Service computer hostname or IP address
      1. If not, resolve the connectivity to the DX Service computer
      2. If you can, confirm TCP Port 80 is allowed on the firewall
  2. Do the following if you have more than one DX Service
    1. Close DataXchange
    2. Go to "C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\scytec\PCS"
    3. Delete "DataEntryConfiguration.config"
    4. Launch DataXchange
    5. Go to ODI Tab
    6. Now enter DX Service computer Host Name or IP address

  3. Alternatively, you can download the standalone Scytec DataXchange ODI Application from Microsoft Store for Windows, App Store for Apple iOS, or Google Play for Android which will allow you to easily change to different hosts.
    1. Login
    2. Click Manage Tab
    3. Application
      1. ODI
        1. General Settings
    4. Clear ODI Settings
      1. Click Clear Settings
