What do the Moxa NPort 5110 LEDs Mean

Overview

This guide will review what each LED lights means and what to do if there are problems. 

Ready LED Indicator (Status)

  1. Steady Green - Functioning normally
  2. Blinking Green - Responding to locate function
  3. Off - No power
    1. Make sure adequate power is being supplied, 12 to 48vdc is supported. Try another power outlet, try another power adapter. If it still not working please contact Shop Floor Automations.
  4. Steady Red (brief, <10 seconds) - Device is booting up. 
  5. Steady Red (sustained, >10 seconds) - Boot up failed, try rebooting unit. If this persists, contact Shop Floor Automations
  6. Blinking Red - IP conflict or DHCP server did not respond properly. Try to reboot the unit. If this persists, confirm the IP address is not in use or the DHCP server is functioning properly.
  1. Green - 100 Mbps Ethernet connection
  2. Orange - 10 Mbps Ethernet connection
  3. Off - Ethernet cable is disconnected, or has a short. Check the network cable and/or patch panel

Tx/Rx LED Indicator (Serial Port Activity)

  1. Green - Serial port is transmitting data
  2. Orange - Serial port is receiving data
  3. Off - No data is flowing to or from the serial port
