What is "open of \\.\COM# failed with 59" error in Predator DNC?

Problem

The logs in Predator DNC show the 59 error.

Reason

This is usually a simple network or power issue. To keep it simple, Predator DNC is unable to communicate with the hardware. 

Solutions

  1. Check the network connectivity by attempting to ping the hardware.
  2. Confirm you have adequate Wi-Fi signal strength (3+ bars).
  3. Check for IP conflicts by turning the device off, then pinging the IP address. If you still get a response, resolve the IP conflict. 
  4. Confirm the unit is powered on
    1. If the hardware is using the machine as a power source, it's possible the machine is powered off in which case power the machine on.
