What is the Predator CNC Editor “Wait” function for?

The wait function is designed to allow the operator to queue a file at the PC to send to the machine, and then receive at the machine.

The steps would be similar to the following:

At the PC, send a file out to the machine, using the wait option

Walk out to the machine and manually receive that file

Once the Wait is enabled, Editor will wait for an “XON” character before sending files. Note that the Wait option is only enabled when flow control is set to either Software or None.

This is different because typically, you would set the CNC control to receive, walk to the PC, and send the file out. Not all machine controls support the “Wait” option. Consult your control operator’s manual for compatibility.
