Why am I getting “Too Many Active Commands” message in Predator DNC logs?
Overview
In most cases, this message means Predator DNC does not have enough ports to facilitate all machines. This can be a result of literally not enough ports, e.g. 9 machines but only own a DNC/8, or the license is not valid causing all ports to fail. The latter typically happens when the license is lost while the application is still running or Predator DNC is running as a Windows service.
Check Predator DNC License
- If running as an application, close Predator DNC. If running as a Windows service, stop the Predator DNC Windows service.
- From the desktop, launch Predator DNC Administrator shortcut
- If prompted for Registration information, you will need to troubleshoot the license
- If the application launches like normal, then continue troubleshooting
Check Available Ports
- While running Predator DNC Administrator, expand all machines
- Now count all remote commands (calculators), that number should be less than or equal to the total ports shown in the title bar

- If you exceed this number, you have too many active commands and need to purchase additional licenses, contact Shop Floor Automations for additional information
Close Additional PXP Configuration file
- In Predator DNC, go to Window menu to check if more than one PXP configuration file is open

- Select the extra PXP configuration file
- Go to Command > Cancel All
- Go to File > Close

- Now that only the intended PXP configuration file is open, go to File > Save All
