Why is Scytec DataXchange generating an error message?

Problem

DataXchange is giving long, verbose error messages when attempting a given operation, or if the ODI screen is erroring out or simply not cooperating.

Solution

  1. The following files can be deleted
    1. C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\scytec\PCS\PCS.user.config
    2. C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\scytec\PCS\DataEntryConfiguration.config
  2. This will delete the user configuration, and/or the ODI configuration, for a given PC. Generally this will clear the vast majority of verbose error messages produced by the software.
