How to Check In/Check Out Vault Item Attachments in Predator PDM

Overview

Checking in and out Vault Item attachments Predator PDM helps keep track of files being modified. This will maintain a "lock out" until the files are checked back in.

Requirements

  1. Predator PDM
  2. Predator PDM User Account with at least Manufacturing Engineering permissions

Check Out Vault Item Attachments

  1. Log into Predator PDM
  2. If not already in the Vault Viewer, open the vault (View > Vault...)
  3. Find the Vault Item to check out and select it
  4. Right-click the Vault Item and click Check Out...
  5. Most Predator PDM configurations do not allow Released Vault Items to be check out. If this is the case in your Predator PDM system, make a revision (How to Revise Vault Items in Predator PDM) to check out the Vault Item.
  6. Select a Local Working Folder on your PC
  7. Click OK when done
  8. All the Vault Item attachments will download into the Local Working Folder on your PC; you are free to make changes

Check In Vault Item Attachments

  1. Log into Predator PDM
  2. If not already in the Vault Viewer, open the vault (View Vault...)
  3. Find the Vault Item to check in and select it
  4. Right-click the Vault Item and click Check In...
  5. If not already populated, select the Local Working Folder on your PC where the checked-out Vault Item attachments are stored
  6. The Status column will indicate which files are newer
  7. Click OK when done
