How to Configure Fanuc FTP Settings

Overview

This article includes steps to configure FTP and set the appropriate I/O channel to send to and from a FTP server. In this case, the CNC machine acts as the FTP client. 

Requirements

  1. CNC Connected to Network
  2. FTP Server IP Address
  3. FTP Server User name & Password

Controls

  1. Fanuc 0i-MD, 0i-TD, 0i-MF, 0i-TF
  2. Fanuc 30i Model A, Model A5, Model B, Model B5
  3. Fanuc 31i Model A, Model A5, Model B, Model B5
  4. Fanuc 32i Model A, Model A5, Model B, Model B5
  5. Essentially any Fanuc control manufactured after 2005

Preparation

  1. How to Configure Fanuc Network and FOCAS Settings

    Configure FTP Settings

    1. Press SYSTEM button
    2. Press the right arrow soft key until you see EMBED PORT on the softkeys
    3. Press EMBED PORT
    4. Press FTP TRANS, this takes you to page 1/6

    5. Set HOSTNAME (IP ADDRESS) to the host computers IP address (Predator DNC computer)
    6. Leave PORT NUMBER set to 21
    7. Set USER NAME to the FTP Server user name for this machine (typically machine number)
    8. Set PASSWORD to the FTP Server password for this machine (typically machine number)

    9. Press PAGE DOWN button to go to page 2/6
    10. Leave LOGIN FOLDER blank

    11. Repeat steps 2-7 for pages 3/4 (Host 2) and 5/6 (Host 3)

    Change I/O Channel

    1. Put the machine in MDI mode
    2. Press the SETTING button
    3. Set the I/O CHANNEL to "9"

    Finalize Configuration

    1. Turn the CNC Control off then back on to apply changes
