How to Configure Fanuc FTP Settings
Overview
The article provides instructions on configuring FTP and establishing the correct I/O channel for transferring data to and from an FTP server. Here, the CNC machine functions as the FTP client.
Requirements
- CNC Connected to Network (How to Configure Fanuc Network and FOCAS Settings)
- FTP Server IP Address and Port Number
- FTP Server Username & Password
Controls
- Fanuc 16i-MB, 16i-TB, 160i-MB, 160i-TB, 160is-MB, 160is-TB
- Fanuc 18i-MB, 18i-TB, 180i-MB, 180i-TB, 180is-MB, 180is-TB
- Fanuc 21i-MB, 21i-TB, 210i-MB, 210i-TB, 210is-MB, 210is-TB
- Fanuc 0i-MD, 0i-TD, 0i-MF, 0i-TF
- Fanuc 30i Model A, Model A5, Model B, Model B5
- Fanuc 31i Model A, Model A5, Model B, Model B5
- Fanuc 32i Model A, Model A5, Model B, Model B5
- Essentially any Fanuc control manufactured after 2004
Enable Parameter Write
- Put control in MDI mode
- Press OFFSET/SETTING (i.e. OFS/SET) button until you see the "SETTING (HANDY)" page
If you do not see the "SETTING (HANDY)" page, either press the SETTING softkey or press OFFSET/SETTING until you do see it - Set PARAMETER WRITE (PWE) to "1"
- Press SYSTEM button
- Press the right arrow soft key until you see ETHPRM on the softkeys
- Press ETHPRM
- Press (OPRT)
- Press EMBEDD
- Press PAGE DOWN button to go to page 3, "FTP TRANSFER" host 1
- Set PORT NUMBER to FTP Server port number (e.g. "21")
- Set IP ADDRESS to the host computers IP address (e.g. Predator DNC computer)
- Set USERNAME to the FTP Server username for this machine (typically machine number)
- Set PASSWORD to the FTP Server password for this machine (typically machine number)
- Set LOGIN DIR to blank (if filled in, enter a space to clear it)
- Repeat steps 6-11 for page 4 (Host 2) and page 5 (Host 3)
Disable Parameter Write
- Press OFFSET/SETTING (i.e. OFS/SET) button until you see the "SETTING (HANDY)" page
If you do not see the "SETTING (HANDY)" page, either press the SETTING softkey or press OFFSET/SETTING until you do see it - Set PARAMETER WRITE (PWE) to "0"
