How to Enable Bridge Mode on Moxa NPort W2150A, W2250A, W2150A-W4, & W2250A-W4

Overview

Enabling bridge mode on the Moxa NPort W2150A, W2250A, W2150A-W4, & W2250A-W4 allows for an Ethernet only device to connect to a Wi-Fi Network. This is often referred to as Wireless Client mode. 

Requirements

  1. IP Address of Programmed Moxa NPort Device
  2. Programmed Moxa NPort W2150A, W2250A, W2150A-W4, & W2250A-W4 Device (Instructions)

Enable Bridge Mode

  1. From a web browser, go to http://[moxa_ip_address]
    1. e.g. http://192.168.1.100/
  2. Type "admin" in Account field
  3. Type "moxa" in Password field
  4. Click Login

  5. Go to Network Settings > Ethernet/Bridge Settings
  6. Set Ethernet bridge to "Enable"
  7. Set IP configuration to "Static"
  8. Type the IP address of the Moxa NPort device in IP address field
  9. Type the Subnet Mask of the Moxa NPort device in Netmask field
  10. Type the Gateway of the Moxa NPort device in Gateway field
  11. Click Submit

  12. Device will prompt for reboot, Click OK
Notes
  1. The wireless client, aka bridged device, will have its own IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. The settings referred in the Moxa NPort device are only for the Moxa NPort device. 
  2. The Ethernet IP address for the Moxa NPort device will no longer use the default of 192.168.126.254, but now use the IP address entered on step 8
