How to Install Predator MDC v11

This guide will demonstrate how to download, install, and configure Predator MDC when connecting to an existing database. 


  1. Local Administrator Rights
  2. Predator MDC v11 Installation Files
  3. License Information
    1. For USB SIM: Serial Number, Access Code, USB SIM
    2. For FLM: Serial Number, Access Code, FLM Server Hostname/IP, FLM Port
  4. Database Information
    1. SQL Username, SQL Password, SQL Server Hostname/IP, Database Name
  5. Predator MDC Username and Password
  6. .NET Framework 3.5

Install Predator MDC

  1. Run SetupMDC.exe
  2. Important: uncheck Predator MDC Service v11

  3. Click Next to begin the installation, use default prompts
    1. If Windows Firewall is detected, click Yes

License Predator MDC

  1. Determine which Predator MDC license is required
    1. Predator MDC Administrator
      1. Typically only one seat per site and intended for the designated Predator MDC administrator user
      2. Often resides only on the server
      3. Can run reports/charts/dashboards
    2. Predator MDC Office
      1. Typically multiple seats per side and intended for users to run reports and charts
      2. Can run all reports/charts/dashboards
    3. Predator MDC Shop Floor
      1. Typically multiple seats per site and intended for TVs and operator data entry
      2. Does not run reports/charts
  2. While holding the shift key, right click the Predator MDC v11 shortcut and click Run as administrator
  3. Enter Registration Information
    1. Name, Company, Serial Number, Access Code
    2. Set License Type
      1. Unknown for USB/Parallel Dongle
      2. Floating License Manager for FLM
        1. Server: FLM Server name or IP
        2. Port: FLM Server port
  4. Press OK
  5. If successful, the Logon window will appear

Database Configuration

  1. Click onto Database tab
  2. Select PC
  3. Enter SQL User in User Name
  4. Enter SQL User password in Password
  5. Enter SQL Server hostname or IP in Server

    1. If successful, you can select a SQL Database from the Database dropdown
    2. If unsuccessful, check your SQL credentials 
  6. Click Connect

User Logon

  1. Enter Predator MDC User Name in User Name
  2. Enter Predator MDC Password in Password

  3. Optional, check the box to Remember Password
  4. Click OK
    1. If successful, Predator MDC will launch
    2. If unsuccessful, check your Predator MDC credentials
