Requirements

  2. Ethernet Cable
  3. 12-48vdc Power Supply (12vdc included)
  4. Device Search Utility (DSU)

Configure Network Settings

  1. Plug in Ethernet cable between Ethernet port located on the top of the unit and your PC Ethernet port
  2. Plug power supply into Moxa
  3. Launch DSU
  4. Click Search and wait for it to complete
  5. Verify the MAC address matches the white label on the back of the unit
  6. Click the device in DSU to highlight
  7. Click Un-Lock (If this is grayed out, skip to step 9)
    1. Username: "admin"; password: "moxa"
    2. Click the device in DSU to highlight
    3. Click Assign IP
    4. Enter IP Address, Netmask, and Gateway
    5. Press OK then wait for it to complete

    6. If successful, Press OK
    7. A new search will automatically start, confirm the same Moxa appears with the correct IP address
    8. Unplug Ethernet cable and plug Moxa NPort 5110 into your network

    Troubleshooting

    1. Confirm you are plugged directly into Moxa Ethernet port from your computer. Plugging the Moxa to the general network in its default state will not let you properly set an IP address.
    2. Confirm you are using default IP (DHCP option) for your computers network card. This means you are not using a static IP address on your computer.
    3. Change your computers network card IP to 192.168.127.100; Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0; Gateway is blank
    4. Try to access the web console (http://192.168.127.254) and program it from there. The username and password from above still apply.
      1. Go to Network Settings and enter the static IP addressSubnet Mask, and Gateway; click Submit when done.
