How to Program Moxa NPort W2150A, W2250A, W2150A-W4, & W2250A-W4 in Wired Mode
Overview
This article will go through the steps to program a Moxa NPort W2150A, W2250A, W2150A-W4, & W2250A-W4 unit to be used in wired mode only. 
Convert Wireless to Wired
This section describes how to convert an already programmed Moxa NPort device to function in wired mode. 
Requirements
- IP Address of Programmed Moxa NPort Device
 
- Programmed Moxa NPort Device (Instructions)
 
Program Ethernet Settings
- From a web browser, go to http://[moxa_ip_address]
 
- e.g. http://192.168.1.100/
 
- Type "admin" in Account field
 
- Type "moxa" in Password field
 
 If you are getting incorrect password, try leaving the password blank.

- Go to Network Settings > Ethernet/Bridge Settings
- Set IP configuration to "Static"
 
- Type the IP address of the Moxa NPort device in IP address field
 
- Type the Subnet Mask of the Moxa NPort device in Netmask field
 
- Type the Gateway of the Moxa NPort device in Gateway field
 
- Click Submit
- Device will prompt for reboot, Click OK
 
Program in Wired Mode from Scratch
This section describes how to program a brand-new Moxa NPort device in wired mode
Requirements
- Ethernet Cable
 
- 12-48vdc Power Supply (12vdc included)
 
- Static IP Address, Subnet Mask (Netmask), & Gateway
- DSU (link)
- Plug in Ethernet cable between Ethernet port located on the top of the unit and your PC Ethernet port
 
- Plug power supply into Moxa
 
- Launch DSU
- Click Search and wait for it to complete
 
 
 
- Verify the MAC address matches the white label on the back of the unit
 
- Click Un-Lock (If this is grayed out, skip this step)
 
- Username: "admin"
 
- Password: "moxa"
 
 If you are getting incorrect password, try leaving the password blank.

- Click the device in DSU to highlight
 
- Click Assign IP
 
- Enter IP Address, Netmask, and Gateway
 
- Press OK then wait for it to complete
- If successful, Press OK
- A new search will automatically start, confirm the same Moxa appears with the correct IP address
 
- Power down Moxa unit and unplug Ethernet cable from PC
 
Boot into Wired Mode
Ethernet MUST be plugged into Ethernet port before powering up Moxa
- While Moxa is still powered down, plug in company Ethernet cable
 
 
- Power up Moxa NPort device
 
- Confirm "Ready" LED is the only LED light lit up 
 
Boot into Wireless Mode

Ethernet cannot be plugged into Ethernet port before powering up Moxa
- Unplug the network cable from the Ethernet port on the Moxa NPort device
 
- Restart the Moxa NPort device to boot into wireless mode
 
- Confirm "WLAN" LED is either flashing or solid green
 
Troubleshooting
- Unable to find the unit with DSU
 
- It is very important to first plug in the Ethernet cable before power up the unit. Unplug the power cord, plug in the Ethernet cable, then plug in the power cord. 
 
- WLAN light is flashing green
 
- Moxa NPort device has booted into wireless mode. Power down Moxa, plug in Ethernet cable, and power up Moxa.
 
- WLAN light is not lit
 
- Moxa NPort device has booted into wired mode. Power down Moxa, unplug Ethernet cable, and power up Moxa.
