What are the Fanuc Alarms?

Overview

This is a list of common Fanuc alarms and some solutions.

Alarms

  1. 070 - No Program space in memory - The memory area is insufficient
    1. Delete any unnecessary programs and try again
  2. 071 - Edit Lock Key
    1. Turn off program protect and try again
  3. 072 - Too many programs - The # of programs to be stored exceeded;
    1. Delete any unnecessary programs and try again.
  4. 073 - Program # already in use - The program # has already been used
    1. Change the program # and try again
    2. Delete the program in the control and try again
  5. 074 - Illegal Program # - The program # is other than 1 to 9999
    1. Modify the program #
  6. 075 - The program number or sequence number was not found at the start block of program
  7. 085 - Communication Error - When entering data in the memory via reader interface an overrun, parity or framing error was generated
    1. Check the communication settings
    2. Try line delay
    3. Check the input port on the parameters and baud rate.
  8. 086 - DR Signal Off - When entering data thru the reader interface to the memory, the reader signal (DR) was turned off
    1. Check the jumpers 6-8-20, 4-5.
    2. Also could be reading in through the wrong port #
  9. 087 - Buffer Overflow - When entering data in the memory via the reader interface, the input is not interrupted after 10 characters read
    1. Use line delay or character delay. 
    2. Also slow baud rate down.
